I am a Stipendiary Lecturer in English specialising in early modern literature and neurodiversity. My research centres the lived experience of neurodivergent people in the early modern era and present day. I am currently finishing her second book Shakespeare and Neurodiversity (Cambridge UP, 2024) which is a guide to teaching Shakespeare in a neurodiversity-inclusive way. My wider research project Early Modern Neurodiversity aims to uncover what concepts early modern European writers used that were analogous to our present-day concepts of neurodivergence and neurodiversity. My first book was Refusing to Behave in Early Modern Literature (Edinburgh UP, 2022).
